Because I am a member of the Kennel Club's Assured Breeder's Scheme, all our Mini Schnauzers are tested annually for hereditary eye disease and are passed clear at the time of mating. This is currently the only recommended or required health testing for the breed.
Miniature Schnauzers came into our lives quite recently. We wanted a smaller dog to go with our Grands, which would be a fun addition to the family, full of personality but a little less challenging. The Miniature Schnauzer perfectly fits the bill.
We do not show our minis but we have none-the-less gone to the trouble to find good specimens of the breed with which to found our small kennel.
What we are interested in, is breeding sound, healthy family dogs of exemplary temperament, To this end, we adhere to all the recommendations from the KC Assured Breeder Scheme and adopt a similar appraoch to our GBGV breeding programme; keeping inbreeding coefficients as low as we can and placing an emphasis on the excellent temperament which is fundamental to any good canine companion.
